Thursday 7th 2006.....

6:45 am : Time to get out of Bed, My God Cant believe it is already morning and i am supposed to be getting up to rush to work. Like a Robot i ascended and took my usual 5 minute shower.Don't be deceived by by slow naration because i am literally running

7:10 am : Finds me already walking out and my Dad comes out to warm me about Rampaging campas students planning a riot. i am given instructions to steer clear of the violence. I am smiling now because in my university days, i remember my brother(Dunu) would call me teargas when ever he would catch sight of me.

7:15am : I am now at the Taxi stage and i ascend the taxi. no real Dramas to report. My mind wanders over how much rain has poured down this week. i remember the movie i had watched the Previous night. "Spartacus" Typical Movie i like watching- horses, slaves, Roman empire, It was all there. What was bothering my mind is that the Film Star Died. yet when i was growing up there was this saying and it is still there that "star taffa" "a Star does not die" I know my litttle pea sister is not deriving some similarities to "Coy boy never die.. If he dies... he never rots.. if he rots.....

7:30am: The Taxi has weeved its way through Sebagala's Small Pothole Infested City. How i don't like the pot holes yet it is the same City i enjoy most. Makes me want to say "Cry the Beloved Country" as i remembered the high school book.

7:45 I ascend the streets lost in thought up to Kampala Road. and i keep on wondering how many times i have endured the routine of the morning. I intentionally enter office at 8:05 having remained outside to catch some air.

8:10am Routine work Begins. Check mail. Check any clients calls, check the goods which are stuck up. Liase with the Technical guys make sure they are happy.

10.40am and before u know it i am reminded(by my extra sensitive stomach walls) i had missed a compulsory school function(okay at that time It was) and it is called Break Fast. The meal 4 bananas, a sausage and a egg topped up with tea.

11.00am i punctuate my morning with phone calls to my loved ones. sorry about the company but i probably refer to work with out play makes machine a dull instrument. all is done i bump in to a friend like this. all is well and nice. Fortunately or unfortunately he buys a cigarette and then we have to part ways sooner than later.

12.20am I am typing things for this entry... to be continued as we end the year of our lord

The money is there(Sente Waali)

Just as i was thinking about what to jote down today on the blog i remembered my times at shool when during a major scandal at university some one was asked to pay 600,000K with in one hour. His Reply was "sente waali" He proptly gathered the maney within 5 minutes. And so went the slogan "sente waali" for quite sometime. And now even in the state of Brokeness i am in, i have alot of faith that nothing can go wrong. I just say "Sente Waali"

Change/Balance
Just as i was still Thinking about many possibilities, the conductor is collecting money and the lady pays 5K and then adds the man coins the remainder of the coins she puts in to her bra. i was shocked. coins kept in the Bra!!!!! now i dont think i want to get change from conductors any more. i know men also keep money in the Stockings but !!!! Im going to advocate for Credit cards or travel tickets..For God and My Country.

Song of the year

I got in to a small conversation with a work mate who proptly gave me her favourate songs of the year. Some thing by UB 40- the reason why.

Talk about Lunch time suprises
Sorry People that i have to factor this in. Lunch time and a get a call from my bestest caz(elit) and she had brought me chocolates. so now that is so sweet. I wish she knew how happy she made me. Many Chocolates for a november month.
Thanks J

Thats about it for today.

African concepts

The Taxi door and Pan-africanism

Today i have dedicated this blog to Why i love to be an African. I will look at this example.
I was travelling back home in a taxi on Sunday and the Taxi tout was going about with his brisk business of Pulling and Pushing his door. You know first of all i admire these guys. they are small in size and always seem to squeeze just beside the front of the taxi.
This time the boy was having some difficulty opening the door and by the time it was half way the journey, the door could only shut half way. i was laughing(U know i love the back sit-where i can view proceedings)

I reached destination and disembarked. Hardly had the Taxi moved 5 metres, than the door came down.my God, the crash was loud. Now me i sat and Laughed.
U know that is because most africans like using things but not servicing them at old- Milking a cow with out feeding it. I should be forgiven for laughing but it was hilarious. the conductor, the door, the driver, the passengers...

A case for Pan-Africanism
On a sad note
Reading through the news papers i was almost brought to tears but at the end the speech i realised nothing could have changed who we are and that is just that. the Black man will survive.
out on a sad note. Please read the Hyperlink and give me some comments.

Why still love staying in Africa

Weekend Tidings

I am surely convinced that there is some thing wrong in this country. For this Reason
The rain has been coming down like never before. Infact as i type this the rain is still falling. but for one reason or another, this rain never allows me to enjoy the benefits that coe with it.

It starts falling at about 6.30 when i am planning to wake up. Why doesnt it approach Midnight and then comes down so that i can get that much needed sleep.

Electricity: Now the water Level in the Lake Victoria must surely have risen . But how comes th eLoad Shedding Time table is not being Revised . Which Leads me to think that these guys must be Siphoning the Fuel To some unknown Location but using my detective skills, i will soon publish my findings.

Tear Gas: After being at University, the one thing i hardly expected was to get a jet of some Cute poison (as i prefer to call it) down my nostrils but thanks to uganda Police they seem to Love the Gas. Let me Confess that Teargas brings memories flooding in to my mind. I will not forget the Battles on Nkrumah Road(the road Adjacent my hall of Residence) Those are some moments i remember and will always remember.

Football: i went to a Make Shift Video hall to watch a football match So i managed to catch Man U and Arsenal at the same time cause they had two TV screens. Then half way the guy puts something like Mummy 7 the movie was translated. couldnt believe my mind was swayed to the movie but that surely summarises the burning event i had on my mind
